China’s steel market showed a positive sign, as the price increase of hot rolled coils and medium plate enlarged. The prices of cold rolled sheets in coils rose in some areas as well.
Up to April 30, hot rolled coil price on average in the thickness of 5.5mm was at RMB5,634/ton in most of main cities of China, increased by RMB122/ton from last week.
Most mills raised the ex-work prices as well. Handan Steel raised its hot rolled plate price of 5.5mm by RMB150/ton to RMB5,610/ton while Tiantie Steel hiked by RMB170/ton to RMB5,720/ton.
Besides, price of cold rolled coils in thickness of 1.0mm was at RMB6,718/ton, rised by RMB69/ton from last week. Price for medium plate in the thickness of 20mm was at RMB6,299/ton, up by RMB132/ton from last week.
